Colonel Jesuíno mistreats Sinhazinha and remains brute towards his wife. Malvina asks her father to go to college but Colonel Melk denies her request. Nacib decides to give a dress to Gabriela. Sinhazinha suffers from a painful toothache and Doroteia suggests her to look for the new dentist in Ilhéus, Dr. Osmundo. Gabriela takes Nacib's lunch to the bar. Doroteia asks her son to beat Zarolha and make her stop wanting to attend the procession.
