Charles takes a financial risk against Gerald's advice in order to fight Sir Edward. Sir John severs his ties with Frere. Ken speculates who might be behind their loss of sponsorship. Polly learns the identity of Gerald's sick friend. Jan asks about Sir Edward's late wife. Leo meets Amanda's father who offers to save him from a very embarrassing situation. Polly refuses to tell Frere what's bothering Gerald. Jan has to go to Avril for retail space in the marina development. Jan and Tom toast Emma Neesome in hope that she'll clear Tom. Frere learns that Avril and Tom are no longer together. Mark returns with an explosive plan.
