Didi is doubly lucky: he is chosen by a magazine to be the ideal double of actor Dieter von Hallerofen, and he wins the chance to play a small role in the shadow of the same star in a race. Bad things happen to him on the way to the studio. For example, he breaks through the canteen roof and ends up between noodles in a giant kettle. But later he finds the Hallerofen studio and nothing stands in the way of Didi's artistic rise.
