On May 17, 1966, in the midst of the Vietnam War, American prisoner Jeremiah A. Denton responds to a propaganda interview for Japanese television. As the man announces that he is being treated with dignity by his jailers, he blinks strangely. Denton is actually sending a coded message to Americans: TORTURE.
