Constant quarrels with his wife haunt Major Khromov. However, a business trip to the city of Klimov allows him to escape from family troubles. Khromov’s new business - the French exhibition at the local museum, anonymous letters with a warning about the possible abduction of exhibits - at first does not cause much interest from the detective. But subsequent events cannot leave him indifferent. The murder of a famous jeweler and the appearance of a real ghost in the local museum make Khromov take a fresh look at this matter. Can his group solve the mystery of a ghost?
