Berthe Morisot is preparing for a soiree, an evening gathering, and she explains to Mati and Dada that Impressionist painters paint the impression of what they see. Their paintings are colourful and energetic, capturing fleeting moments and changing light. Her painting ‘Woman and Child in a Garden’ shows sun, shade, and wind. ‘Young Woman Knitting’ is full of energy and movement and ‘Portrait of a Young Lady’ uses dashes of paint to show light on her dress.
