When investigative journalist Imke Leopold asks Thorsten Falke for help in uncovering a supposedly illegal real estate deal on Norderney, he initially reacts with skepticism. Shortly afterward, when Imke becomes the victim of an attack she survives only by sheer luck, Falke regrets his hesitation and asks Julia Grosz to join him in investigating on the island. Is the attack connected to a large-scale construction project that was approved by some local politicians on the island? Unfortunately, the island-based lawyer and real estate agent who brokered the deal and hinted at it to Imke is no longer available as an informant – Falke and Grosz find him murdered in his house…
