Joel is visiting a young friend, Simon, who invents a telescope to observe outer space. However, Simon discovers that an asteroid is approaching the Earth, which was sent by Olympius to impact Mariner Bay. To stop it, the Rangers initiate the Omega Project, which consists of the Omega Zords - five spacecraft which combine into the Omega Crawler and later the Omega Megazord.
