Maria is a prisoner in her own castle. The citizens of their capital Ghent want to force them to marriage. The King of France brings his son, a bad child, as a spouse into play. Maximilian's train to Burgundy is overshadowed by dangers. Deadly and destitute, he has to interrupt the journey in Cologne. Maria's enemies are almost at their destination, as Maximilian prevented the disaster with a brilliant move.
