Le corps de Clara Santini est retrouvé sans vie au bord d'un lac. Marleau sent vite que l'affaire tourne autour du trio que Clara formait avec son compagnon, Gabin Vauthier, un officier de marine surnommé "l'Amiral", et Jade, une adolescente impliquée dans une série de vols. Clara et Gabin avaient le projet de créer une base nautique pour enfants défavorisés, ce qui ne plaisait pas à tout le monde, dont un hôtelier qui avait lui aussi le projet d'exploiter les berges du lac. Plus Marleau s'enfonce dans ce microcosme, plus les cartes se brouillent. Qui est réellement Jade ? Quel est son lien avec Vauthier?
