Father Jérôme Deslauriers, a figure of a Caribbean community in Paris, collapsed in his church while officiating for a wedding. Alice directs her investigation to Gabrielle when she discovers that this woman was Jerome's clandestine companion and the mother of their sixteen-year-old daughter, Elise. In front of the steps of the Palais de Justice, Mathieu surprises Alice: he has obtained permission for the day.
