After divorcing Richard, Anna and Owen are living quite happily together for a year when Owen asks Anna to marry him. In this time Richard has become a father to Michael James Richard Crane Reid, his five month old son with Vivien, who he looks after every other weekend.
Myrtle, Anna's mother, is admitted to hospital by Richard on false pretences just to cover the period of the wedding. Tension then starts to build between Owen and Anna.
