Delfino is full of courage and introduces Gabino as Deborah and Valente's son. Delfino confesses his reasons for taking Gabino away from Deborah, but angrily despises them all as his parents. Deborah suffers as she remembers all the times she despised Gabino for being the son of peasants, hoping that he will forgive her one day. Alejandro seeks out Dionisio to explain why he is the current owner of the land that belonged to his father.
