An unidentified man's body is discovered in a wasteland. His death appears to have been caused by a violent blow to the head. Commander Rovère's team discovers that this is Captain Luc Fomey, a student at the prestigious Ecole Supérieure des Armées. The autopsy reveals that the thirty-year-old had taken drugs and that the blow was carried out post-mortem: the assassin wanted to make it appear as an attack.
