It's a quiet day at No 73, or so they think. A producer is coming to hear Alec's radio novel. Harry wants to join Mari Wilson and the Wilsations. Tony English has finished building a full sized hovercraft in the yard, with help from Hazel. Dawn shows a film of her visit to a rock candy factory. Martin offers to help Alec, but insists on avoiding Ethel while at 73. However, Martin secretly has aspirations to become a radio newsreader. Bill Oddie has sent in a film on bird watching in town. The Edwards and Jenny Lee Wright perform an excerpt of Alec's radio novel "Tough Breaks".
