On the way back to the farm, Mariana tries to seduce José Inocêncio. They argue and he leaves her in the middle of the road. Upon arrival, José Inocêncio tells her that Mariana has “fallen into the world" and João Pedro goes after her on horseback. José Bento takes Kika to a luxury hotel in Rio, but his cards don't go through. Kika ends up paying.
