Karen and Kathryn from Sheffield have called in Charlie and Flo to help them with their bland, fake-grass-clad back garden. The couple love to spend time outdoors – walking, reading, sunbathing, eating, playing with their dog – but need a space less reminiscent of a football pitch to enjoy. They have their hearts set on a garden with a forest feel, with informal, wandering paths and a log cabin vibe. They’d like trees to make them feel more enclosed, a barbecue zone and a quiet, restful spot for reading. They have a healthy budget of £6,000, but even so, Flo and Charlie will have their work cut out creating a forest garden from an expanse of plastic turf.
