In emotional conversations with Juhnke's wife Susanne, Juhnke's son Peer, Otto's personal anecdotes, historical archive material, private recordings, interviews with prominent friends and companions, the film draws a very intimate picture of Harald Juhnke - from the beginning of his career until after his death.
