Just a few days ago, the Oscars were awarded in L.A. And in Germany the film industry does what it does best: always cast the same three men for leading roles, produce films with shallow stories and no film without a penis joke. Despite millions of film funding, cinematic masterpieces such as "Potato Salad 3 - The Musical" or most demanding classics with the name "Abschussfahrt" are churned out. Are good German films perhaps not made because of, but despite the German film funding system?
