Dr. Bousquet runs a rehabilitation centre for offenders, but the presence in his house of criminals and the mentally ill worries his family. When two murders are committed, Commissioner Laurence is sent to investigate, trying unsuccessfully in the process to avoid the overly curious journalist, Alice Avril.
