Valerian and Laureline manage to outmaneuver Denebian space pirates, but at the cost of crash-landing on another planet. Tempers flare when they end up on a desert island, as Valerian can't get used to the utter lack of technology while Laureline, originally from the Middle Ages, feels right at home.
