Polina lives in Mokva, successfully manages a law firm and does not expect anything bad from life. However, fate in the near future sends a woman a lot of tests. It all started with the fact that Polina received a call from her mother, who asked her daughter to return home to a small provincial town, where she had not been for many years.

Provincial town, where she had not been for many years. In the past, there was a big quarrel between Polina and her younger sister, because of which the main character decided to move. Now Polina arrives at the "nesting" and learns disturbing news from her mother: her sister Apina disappeared a couple of days ago.

The operatives found Arina completely dead: someone strangled her and threw her into the lake. The main suspect is the girl's husband, whose name is Boris. The man has reasons, because the lawsuits on the division of property between him and his wife lasted long and hard. A lawyer recently arrived from Moscow considers this man innocent and even offers to defend him in court in a murder case.

In the meantime, near the house of Arina and at her workplace, unknown people installed plaster figurines with the inscription "whore". Detective Andreev, investigating the murder of a girl found in the lake, finds unexpected information. It turns out that Polina's murdered sister was in a group of car thieves. What secrets did Arina hide? Who benefits from strangling her? Was this mysterious person involved in the crime? The Moscow lawyer, with the support of Andreev, continues the investigation and reveals more and more secrets of the deceased.
