Utterly ignoring Hideyoshi's will, Ieyasu strengthens his influence. Mitsunari [Koji Yamamoto] decides to raid the Tokugawa residence in the Fushimi Castle town in order to take the life of Ieyasu. However, the assassination plot is leaked to Honda Masanobu [Masaomi Kondo], who raises the alarm and calls out to the daimyos to come to the protection of the residence. Masayuki repeatedly pleads for a pardon through Nobuyuki [Yo Oizumi], but Ieyasu [Seiyo Uchino] ignores the appeals and steadily pushes ahead to unify the country under his rule. Meanwhile, Kiri [Masami Nagasawa] and Haru [Mayu Matsuoka] start living under the same roof. Haru starts to worry after hearing Nobushige and Kiri reminisce about their time in Shinano. Time goes by and Masayuki knows he has not long to live. One night, Masayuki imparts to Nobushige the stratagems to be used if and when the Tokugawas and Toyotomis clash in the future.

Meanwhile, the Five Osaka Generals hold a war council in the presence of Hideyori [Taishi Nakagawa].
