John Cooper Clarke is an English performance poet who first became famous as a "punk poet" in the late 1970s. Best known for his poem I Wanna Be Yours, written in 1982 and adapted into the ballad that closes out the band Arctic Monkeys most successful album 2013’s AM and recently clocking its billionth stream on Spotify (as of April2023)
