Roman prepares for a surprise engagement party Isabella is planning with Jennifer and others. Marlena, returning after five years, attempts to contact Roman but finds him unreachable. She leaves him a note asking to meet at the Continental Bar, though Isabella denies writing it when Roman shows her the message. The party preparations hit a snag when the ice sculpture melts in a broken-down van. Marlena arrives at the Continental Bar and discovers Roman's wedding announcement to Isabella in the newspaper, forcing her to confront their changed circumstances.
