Furious at Alba and Sebastián's betrayal, Leonel not only decides to humiliate them in front of everyone in the church, but also to take away everything he once gave them out of his goodwill. Hardened in heart, Leonel distrusts even those who were loyal to him and demands that Amapola reveal who her accomplice was to uncover Alba and Sebastián's plan. Alba returns to the Montoro estate to explain that, while it's true she had a brief affair with Sebastián, that no longer represents how she feels about him today. Covadonga appears before Leonel, determined to make amends for Alba's humiliation, revealing that he has been deceived his entire life.
