This lecture looks at individual genetic differences that influence synapse function in the brain, sometimes with dramatic effects on personality and behavior. In some cases, aberrant neurotransmitter signaling across synapses can lead to diseases such as anxiety, aggression, depression, and Parkinson's disease.
