Why are more and more women having children later? We've talked about the issues of prioritizing professional development and stabilizing before becoming pregnant. But even so, there are many challenges that mothers face in their academic careers. There are fewer mothers on postgraduate courses, expectations are unfair (on all sides). Being a mother is a challenge in itself, but being a mother in academia is even more challenging.
