Gabriela introduces Tomás as her boyfriend to get rid of Francisco. He can hear her and for the first time he is happy to hear it. Leonor claims that Beatriz's death is part of Jaime's revenge, and swears to make him pay by destroying his legacy forever. Emilio confirms Jaime's death and feels obliged to give Tomás the terrible news. Tomás hears Leonor speaking badly of Jaime and confronts her, demanding that she respect his father's memory; he discovers that Gabriela is the granddaughter of his new enemy.
