Somewhere on Earth is off to re-discover Croatia. This country in the southern Balkans, is a land of contrasts is surprisingly rich in natural wonders. First we meet Goran Safarek, a biologist and nature photographer, in the Kopački rit Park, a vast wetland sanctuary for Europe’s largest wild animals and thousands of birds. Then we meet Petra Kovac Konrad, a scuba diving enthusiast and geologist, who is exploring the Balkan caves in search of a strange and mysterious creature: the proteus. Finally we meet Sebastien Dao, an inveterate sailor and adventure raid organizer, in the Kornati Islands.
