Sonderkommando Elbe was a Luftwaffe task force that planned to take down Allied planes by ramming their aircraft into them, mid-air. While the pilots planned to parachute out of their planes, the chances of returning home were slim. To achieve their aim, they flew stripped down Messerschmitt Bf 109's that were fast and agile. A story of bravery and desperation that still fascinates today.
