Eva discovers that Renato is Modesto and Carmen's son, so she tells him that his mother is dying in the hospital. Lalito confesses to Helena that Plutarco helped him cheat in the science contest so that he would win. Renato refuses to visit his mother in the hospital, but Eva convinces him to go, and when she is alone, she confirms that Luis Renato is her half-brother. Modesto blames Renato for having distanced himself from Carmen, and he also holds him responsible, and when he sees his mother in bed, he makes her a promise.
