Meanwhile in Edo, the Tokugawa shogunate learns that an American fleet is approaching Japan, aiming to establish a trade relationship. Nariakira realizes that he needs to adopt Okatsu soon to carry out his plan. As the day of Okatsu's departure approaches, Tadatake suddenly acts cool towards Okatsu.
