Welcome to the Wedding Dress Shop. Outside, it’s an unassuming shop on an ordinary high street. But inside, it’s an extraordinary place where dreams come true on a daily basis. Waving the magic wand is quirky bespoke dress designer Samantha Buca. She ditches the usual rules of who looks hot in what as her ethos is if you’re tall, short, curvy or thin, you deserve to look fabulous. Samm turns friendly detective on her customers, finding out the details of their lives before conjuring up the perfect dress for the day of their lives. And it gets very emotional. Everyone in the shop’s in tears when young bride Katy reveals why she has an even more special reason than most to look forward to dad walking her down the aisle. Next in is fabulous 50-something Anne-Marie who’s keen on colourful dress that would put Jessica Rabbit to shame. And finally, Emma tries on her bespoke dress for her dad’s 60th birthday cruise. Being plus size, she’d been daunted by the thought of a formal gown but with encouragement from Samm – including an impromptu floss to prepare to dancing the night away at sea – Emma can’t wait to set sail. Between appointments, Samm and her team – mother Mama B and sister Andrea - resolve the big questions of life.
