Lost in the sea, Yolanda is found by a family of seals and a family of dolphins, more dead than alive. As she is torn between life and death, she has a premonitory dream in which her father, the Black Corsair, shows her what would happen if she died. She sees Wan Guld victorious, demanding the Corsair Treasure and murdering his friends. Yolanda's mother, Honorata, the Black Rose, also urges Yolanda to "fight for the good." Yolanda begins by struggling to survive.
