Odile tries to convince David of the merits of Margaret's proposal. Laurent, who was unaware, reproaches his mother for taking this initiative. Dorice reminds Simone to maintain a good attitude at work, even if she's heartbroken. She confides in Dominique that she's afraid for the future due to the war declared by the mayor on her establishment. David, who wants Simone to take his place, consults her about hiring a new dancer who's quite different. And indeed, Franck James soon makes his mark.
