Documentary about the thousands of Chinese workers who supported Allied forces in the First World War by digging trenches, maintaining vehicles and dismantling unexploded bombs, but whose vital work went largely unrecognised. The programme uses recently discovered letters, diaries and documents to explore the experiences of this workforce, and features contributions from their living descendants
