A young widow and her son are held hostage by two extortionists who threaten to blow Matlock sky high with stolen dynamite. The 'Angel Of Mercy' helicopter, which is in Matlock for a demonstration at a charity football match, is called in after one of the criminals crashes his car during a high speed police chase.
