Maureen has overcome her disappointment at failing the written theory exam and is delighted to find that she has passed on her second attempt. Her husband Dave takes her out for extra lessons to celebrate, but a heated argument soon follows. Dave criticises her ability to reverse around corners, but Maureen issues an ultimatum and Dave decides to stay, but soon regrets his decision as Maureen breaks the exhaust on his prized Lada. After passing her test, Joan uses her savings to buy her first car. Jake the dog is ready to go in the front seat, but Joan loses her nerve and calls her instructor Paul for extra lessons.
