Fecha de emisión: Nov 16, 2014
An extended interview with the author and former children's laureate Michael Morpurgo, who has written over 100 books.
Morpurgo reflects on the huge success of his novel War Horse, which was adapted into a successful National Theatre production and into a film by Steven Spielberg, the recurring theme of war in his books such as Private Peaceful, and his most recent novel Listen to the Moon, which centres on a survivor of the sinking of the passenger liner the Lusitania in 1915.
Morpurgo also discusses his relationship with his father, the celebrated actor Tony Van Bridge, his friendship with the late poet laureate Ted Hughes, and considers whether the role of a children's writer is to introduce young readers to adult issues.
