Former sea captain Christopher Bonifatievich Vrungel is offered to participate in a sailing regatta organized by a foreign yacht club. Vrungel agrees and, with the help of his assistant and student Loma, builds a yacht called “Victory”. However, before the departure begins, the first two letters disappear, and then the yacht receives the name “Trouble”. Later, while sailing, Vrungel and Lom are caught in the tide.
