Nicole interrupts Fay and Brandon, sparking a heated argument. When Brandon claims their father didn't beat her, Nicole implies he did much worse and that Fay knew about it. After Nicole leaves, Brandon apologizes, but Fay tells him to prove it by leaving Abe alone.
John attacks Roman, accusing him of setting Abe up to shoot Brady. Meanwhile, the commissioner refuses Abe's resignation, insisting on time off instead. Abe apologizes to John, and to his surprise, John forgives him.
Belle is terrified when Marlena admits her marriage to John is failing because he blames her for Brady's injury. Marlena flees in tears, leaving Belle feeling like her world is crumbling.
