Isabel, devastated by Valeria's death, falls into a deep depression and loses trust in Remigio. Even so, she asks him to protect Javier, who claims to have always obeyed his father. Javier, without support or money, sinks into drugs and becomes more aggressive. Remigio, determined to be acquitted, plots revenge against those who oppose him. He tries to harm Father Gregorio, but Jazmín stops him. He also manipulates Alma into distancing her from her mother, accusing Jazmín of assaulting him. With this argument, he manages to have her psychiatrically evaluated, although Fernando tries to protect her. Mariángeles, his partner, misinterprets his closeness to Jazmín.
