The Colosseum is the largest building built by Rome. Its grandiose architecture testifies to the genius of the builders of the time. Able to accommodate up to 50,000 spectators, it had a “removable” roof, a level floor, water fountains, elevators, drainage systems and pipes. Would current engineering and architectural techniques allow this record-breaking construction to be reproduced identically?
