After the protagonist is fired from the project, he hires a spy to investigate. The spy uncovers a tape labeled “Dorsal Extraction.” In this footage, Toho scientists are shown surgically removing one of Godzilla’s dorsal plates from the Man in the Suit’s back​ in an attempt to weaken or study him.
