Math without Laughing
Fermat's Last Theorem (1x7)
Fecha de emisión: Ago 24, 2022
Panther Takahiro Ogata explains difficult mathematical problems in a very serious manner in "Mathematics without Laughter." Fermat's Last Theorem was called the greatest mystery in the history of mathematics. How was the extremely difficult problem finally solved!? In the 17th century, Fermat, a genius mathematician in France, left a note: "There are no natural numbers (1, 2, 3,…) x, y, and z such that x^n + y^n = z^n, in which n is a natural number greater than 2." However, there was no proof left to show that this was correct because "there was no margin on the paper." Is Fermat's statement really correct? Many mathematicians have tried to solve this problem, which even a junior high school student could understand, but failed. This film depicts the drama of the 350-year struggle to reach the proof.
