The Kings and Generals animated historical documentary series continues with a video on Alexander the Great and how he was portrayed in Quran, Shahname, and other Middle Eastern traditions, including writings of Persian, Arab, and Jewish authors. This video will explore how the historical reality of Alexander's conquest of Asia, the collapse of the Achaemenid empire, and the formation of the Macedonian empire led to the creation of a number of legends that had him as the protagonist, often as Dhu al-Qarnayn.
