Despite being the subject of numerous documentaries and most recently a film starring James Franco, The Disaster Artist, that ironically eclipsed the film it was inspired by’s box office run, nobody really knows how the film came to be, largely because the man behind it has staunchly refused to ever give a straight answer about almost every aspect of the film’s production and his own history.
