As a brutally cold winter and trapping season begins, a handful of tough, modern day Northerners head out to their traplines in remote parts of Yukon and Alaska, battling sub-zero temperatures and hazardous terrain. Outside of Dawson City, Guy Couture attempts a dangerous snowmobile crossing over a jagged mountain ridge. Megan Melanson and her 2-year-old daughter Tasin fly in a white out with hopes of landing at their family cabin in Bear Lake. In Alaska’s Mount DuRelle region, Mike Willard and Dave Bruss are trying to wind their way across the deadly Tazlina glacier. And on the Sixty Mile River, Cor Guimond gets his season off to a strong start with a stunning catch.

Cor's lead dog gets injured; Megan must take baby Tasin with her to rescue Brian on a frozen lake; Guy's eagerness to trap in the Ladue River Valley almost leads to disaster; and Mike's claim in an untapped valley finds him stuck in a minefield of ice.

Deep in the Yukon, a timber wolf creates chaos with Megan and Brian's trapline; Cor's push to reach remote Matson Creek results in heartbreak; in Alaska's Mount DuRelle Valley, Mike and Mark's quest for beaver falls on thin ice.

On the far side of the Tazlina Glacier, Mike and Dave have to make a dangerous river crossing to get to new trapping ground; With his normal trail flooded, Guy has to bushwack through wilderness to get to his wolverine traps.

In Yukon's remote Bear Lake, Megan and Brian have to outsmart a fox that's causing chaos on their trapline; in Alaska, Mike's trapline is being attacked by a pack of wolves; in Matsen Creek, Cor's hot streak comes to an end.
