Metal Gear Solid follows the soldier Solid Snake, who attempts to neutralize a terrorist threat from the renegade unit FOXHOUND. The game shipped more than six million copies, and scored an average of 94/100 on Metacritic. A remake called Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes was later released for the GameCube.
